Phil Koopman is an associate professor with the Carnegie Mellon University department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He served as a U.S. Navy submarine officer during the Cold War and was an embedded CPU designer for Harris Semiconductor. In recent years, Phil has focused on autonomous vehicle safety technology, safety policy, and embedded system skill training for industry.

The former CEO of International Rectifier and founder and CEO of market research firm iSuppli today teaches at Princeton University as part of his mission to help others succeed as entrepreneurs. His contributions include a number of value chain applications that have improved operations at companies as diverse as Sony, Samsung, Philips, Goldman Sachs and IBM. Lidow sold iSuppli sold in 2010 for $100 million to global information leader IHS.

Malcolm Penn is the founder, chairman, and CEO of Future Horizons Ltd., a leading global semiconductor industry research and consulting firm. Before establishing Future Horizons, Penn was vice president and director of European Operations for Dataquest (now Gartner). In 1994, Future Horizons published a report that helped the European Commission formulate its strategy for microelectronics support in Europe. More recently, Penn authored the EC report on “Mergers & Acquisitions in the Semiconductor Industry,” which identified the driving factors and opportunity scenarios behind the current wave of semiconductor industry M&A.
