The 2025 Embedded World Exhibition in Nuremberg ended on Thursday with attendees and exhibitors swiftly bouncing back from strikes that paralyzed German airports. Some people cancelled their trip while others found ways to re-route flights or – it’s Europe, after all – arrived by rail.

The Show didn’t falter. By the second day, the halls were packed. Foot traffic had grown and discussions that would have been scuttled were back on track. One attendee had 17 meetings in two days (before the strikes, they had been scheduled take take place over three days.)

Ojo-Yoshida Report’s correspondents and editors were at the Show conducting interviews and reviewing products. Our annual Embedded Quest podcast this year focused on “Embedded & Artificial Intelligence.” We’ll be rolling this out next week. Many of the exhibitors had products they were featuring at the Show, which gave birth to our latest release: “Hot Stuff from the Embedded World 2025 Exhibition.” For each company featured, we ask them to tell us their “Hot Stuff” – just one product or service – and do a video demo of the selected item.

Renesas’ Hot Stuff was the 64-bit RZ/V2N Line for Vision AI. It was announced at the opening of the Embedded World Show as an upgrade to the previous RZ/V2H. The new device is much smaller than the predecessor, “reducing the area required for mounting by 38%,” the company said, in a statement.

“With the addition of the RZ/V2N, sharing the same lineage as the RZ/V2H, we are extending our reach to address mid-range applications, particularly endpoint vision AI that does not need to be realized with power hungry designs,” said Daryl Khoo, VP of embedded processing at Renesas. “Our customers will be able to select the best AI MPU from Renesas that meets their system and budget requirements.”

The task of describing the product at Embedded World 2025 fell to Johannes Bruecker, business development manager.
