We crossed paths with serial entrepreneur Mike Noonen at the recent Electronica trade fair in Munich. Noonen’s latest venture is Swave Photonics, which seeks to advance holography developed by Imec, a renowned R&D institute in the fields of nanoelectronics and digital technologies (Leuven, Belgium). Swave’s holographic extended reality display technology is aimed at the nascent augmented and virtual reality markets.

Swave CEO Noonen parachuted into Munich to drum up business, search for investors and meet with technology reporters.

Given Noonen’s sterling track record of taking tech startups to public offerings, his pitch is worth a listen. Swave’s challenge includes establishing partnerships with the electronics industry’s key players like AMD, MediaTek and Nvidia.

No small task, that. But it’s clear Noonen relishes the challenge.
